![]() ![]() Or if you are into indie game development and are not seduced by the mobile/web possible bubble, (and don’t expect to produce for consoles anytime soon). I would recommed it instead of Unity for corporate 3d applications. QUEST3D 5.0 VR EDITION MAC OSBut in Unity you have from Mac OS and web to Mobile and Consoles. The web plugin is quite problematic in the matters of compatibility, but when it works, it is quite light-weighted. ![]() The greatest downside is the deployment option, just PC executable. The beauty is that, as you accomplish stuff very quickly, you can spend more time fine tunning it. It is actually capable of producing very high quality and creative software. And don’t be deceived by the word “prototyping”. I can’t put simply how well designed and empowering is the scripting environment in Quest3D, so I’ll just say that prototyping gameplay/interaction will be done the fastest and bug-free way using Quest3D, specially if the programmer is to be a one-man-army. The ability to program on the go is really nice too. Uscript is a kitsch Kismet implementation. The best thing on Unity is Antares Universe aka VIZIO, but still not as clean as Quest environment. Visual scripting very powerfull and simple. The real strenght of Quest3D is it’s scripting plataform. The renderer is still good for current standards, but it is on the edge. For instance, no soft particles nor AA with 32bits buffer (unless they implemented deferred AA on version 5.0). But Quest3D is still based on DirectX 9, and this is becoming a constrain to it. The rendering engine with it’s linear workflow is really good and mature, producing a better HDR rendering in my opinion. The SDK is a great way to integrate support for specific hardware or provide extra functionality to Quest3D with the performance of C++. If you you are very demanding about your application you can grab the SDK and start building components for Quest3D using the SDK. The unique graphical programming language allows you to see direct results in real-time and frees you from the unfriendly text editor which is usually required to program. You can change the rendering, shader details, object types or any other aspect. When you are more experienced you can customize everything from front to end. With just some simple clicks you export your project to a neatly compressed executable so your project can run on other PCs with as much effort as clicking an icon. ![]() Quest3D VR edition allows users to connect virtual reality hardware and control the environment. QUEST3D 5.0 VR EDITION SOFTWAREA very high end Virtual Reality software system that supports among other things the P5 Glove. Quickly create real-time fly-throughs by importing models and modifying materials, lighting, and the environment. A Virtual Reality System for visualization of complex 3d Scenes. ![]()
